CHILDREN

Choose from a list of trusted Vietnamese charity organizations to donate to.

Vietnam faces significant poverty challenges, especially in rural areas where many communities lack access to proper healthcare, education, and basic living necessities. While local charities work tirelessly to support these vulnerable populations, government funding is often limited, making overseas donations critical in sustaining their efforts.

Many Vietnamese charities rely on private donors to continue their mission, ensuring that children receive education, families have access to healthcare, and disaster relief reaches those in need. Your contribution, whether through traditional donations or Dola Coins, can make a direct and lasting impact on improving lives.

A Little Fighter's Brave Journey: The Story of Ly A Vu

  • Mô tả ngắn

A Tragic Accident, A Community's Hope: Helping Little Ly A Vu Heal

In the recovery room of the National Burns Hospital, little Ly A Vu, just three years old and from the Hmong ethnic community, lies still. His small body is wrapped entirely in white bandages, making him look like a tiny plaster statue. The brave little boy is enduring unimaginable pain after a terrible accident where he fell into a pot of hot pig feed, leaving 48% of his body with severe burns.

His father, 34-year-old Ly A Lu, sits heartbroken by his son's bedside, his face etched with sorrow and regret. On March 28th, while he and his wife were working in their schools, little Vu was at home with his grandmother. Tragically, he stumbled and fell into the scalding pot. When his father rushed home, he found his son's skin grievously injured, the little boy having cried until he lost consciousness from the pain.

Mr. Lu’s family is among the poorest in Ang To Commune, Muong Ang District, Dien Bien Province. Both parents are unable to read or write and do not speak the national language fluently. They scrape by, farming corn and cassava on a small patch of land to feed their five young children. After the accident, they managed to borrow 2 million VND from their neighbors and fellow villagers. They hired a motorbike taxi to take Vu to the district health center, and from there, he was transferred to Dien Bien Provincial General Hospital. The kind doctors there pooled together 1 million VND and arranged for a charity ambulance to bring the little boy to the National Burns Hospital in Hanoi.

Here, some infants, just days old, are leaving at the temple gates without a birth certificate or a single relative. Others have grown up within the shelter, from their first toddling steps to school, to the day they suicidally held a graduation diploma in their hands.

Love Family Te - Phan – A Haven of Love in the Heart of Saigon

Amid the bustling streets of Saigon, there exists a humble yet profoundly loving place called “Phan Family,” affectionately known as “Pink Manger.” Here, those who have been forgotten by society—orphaned, elderly, sick, or disabled—find a true home filled with warmth and care.

At the heart of this extraordinary shelter is Brother Hoang Van Binh, a cyclo driver who, for over 16 years, has quietly dedicated his life to supporting those in need. It all began with a chance encounter with an elderly man shivering under an awning on a rainy night. From that moment, Brother Binh opened his arms not only to one person but to millions of others: abandoned children, lonely seniors, and individuals with cerebral palsy or disabilities.

  • Thien Duyen Shelter

  • Mô tả ngắn

At Mai Am Thien Duyen in Cu Chi, there is a special boy named Thien “Lac.” Born with disabilities due to the effects of Agent Orange, Thien’s head constantly trembles, his frail body struggles, and he is unable to speak. The day he was abandoned by the roadside, an elderly motorbike taxi driver brought him to the shelter of “Ma Muoi”—the mother to all the less fortunate souls.

Despite being surrounded by illness, Thien brings joy with his sparkling eyes and innocent smile. Ma Muoi, with boundless love, has cared for him like her own child. Thien is a small but resilient flower, a living miracle within the shelter, reminding everyone that with love, every life, no matter how imperfect, can blossom.

Thien Duyen Shelter is more than a place of refuge; it is where children like Thien find love, care, and hope. Under Ma Muoi's roof, each child is nurtured not only physically but also emotionally, enveloped in the warmth of human kindness. With an open heart, Ma Muoi embraces every child without discrimination, even those societies have forgotten. In this home, love is never in short supply—simple meals warm the heart, and Ma Muoi’s words of encouragement help the children overcome pain and strive forward in life.

Mai Am Tu Tam – Where Hearts Heal the Lives of Little Ones

Amid the hustle and bustle of life, there is a place quietly igniting hope for the less fortunate – Mai Am Tu Tam, nurtured and cherished with all their hearts by the Sisters of the Witnesses of Faith from the Đà Lạt Diocese.

This home currently shelters nearly 50 children – orphaned and disabled, bearing hardships from the moment they were born. Some suffer from cerebral palsy, unable to move on their own; others, affected by Agent Orange, carry innocent faces yet bear the heavy scars of war’s legacy.

Each day, the Sisters are not only caregivers but also pillars of emotional support, the only family these children know. In the gentle lullabies echoing through the small room, love is passed on – quietly, steadfastly, and full of warmth.
